Randall Green |
Randall Green began his tenure as Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Lufkin, on June 26, 2000. A native Texan, Mr. Green studied music at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where he took a Bachelor’s degree Choral Music in 1984 and a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Conducting in 1988.
Randall relocated to Lufkin from Los Angeles, where he spent the better part of the last decade previous to this move as Director of Music at Calvary Church, West Hills, California. Randall also enjoys teaching voice, both privately and as a member of the voice faculty at Angelina College, Lufkin. He has also taught for Houston Community College and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary of San Francisco, where he lectured on the history of Church Music.
Randall and his wife, April, were married on June 1, 1985. They have three children: sons Zachary, Dakota, and daughter Taylor. In addition to his passion for music, theology, history, liturgy, philosophy and psychology, Mr. Green enjoys bicycling and hiking, particularly in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. He also enjoys coaching and officiating for youth baseball, football and basketball events, pursuits which he has been actively involved in both California and Texas.
