Prayer Ministry
My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.
Isaiah 56:7b

We believe in the power of prayer at Lufkin ’s First United Methodist Church .  There are dedicated men and women who make it a priority to pray for this church and for you.  You can feel confident that your prayer request is handled with the utmost care and concern.

The Gathering – teachers and church leaders are invited to this time of prayer every Sunday morning in the Prayer Chapel (Student Education/Ministry Wing) at
9 AM led by Lanelle Johnson.  We pray for the church, its staff, leaders, members, and visitors.

First Prayer – official prayer chain of the church.  This is a very active group of people who take praying very seriously.  Leave your prayer request here.  Our faithful leaders are Bill and Emily Kistler, Earlon and Sarah Williams, and Dennis and Joan Rankin.

Monday Morning Prayer Group – This group meets in the Prayer Chapel every Monday morning at
9 AM .  We pray for those in need, our staff, and our church.  This small group is open to anyone who has a heart for prayer.

Prayer Chapel – A great place to come and present your requests to God.  Our Prayer Chapel is located at the end of our existing Student Education/Ministry Wing.  It is open 7 days a week from
7:30 AM to 9 PM .

Confidence?
God's word assures us that we can draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in the time of need. Is anyone in trouble, the Bible says let him pray. If you lack wisdom, Jesus says ask. Are you worried? His word encourages us to be anxious about nothing - but to present our requests to God. To pray is not difficult: God not only gives us this opportunity, but desires that we do.
