An
Evening In Old Bethlehem
-
Imagine visiting the
birthplace of Jesus without ever boarding a plane.
Your opportunity is the second weekend of December at
the Angelina County Expo Center. The Expo is
transformed with the sights, sounds and smells of what
Bethlehem might have been in Jesus' day. Visit street
vendors as they show you their wares and share the
good news, but watch out for the Roman soldiers as
they question who has paid their taxes! Trying to find
room at the inn will be difficult, but look into the
stable next door to see the greatest gift of all.
Upward Basketball -
This community wide outreach sporting event was
originally sponsored by Lufkin's FUMC. But over
the past five years the league has grown to over 61
participating churches, over 400 students each year,
and expansions in other sporting events for further
outreach. The goal of Upwards Basketball is to
communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to
non-believers. For more information, contact Mark
Gipson.
Scouting - We are
the chartering church for Cub Scout Pack 121 and Boy Scout
Troop 121.
Rotary - We host a
weekly luncheon for this civic organization.
TOPS - Taking Off
Pounds Sensibly meets every Friday.
We also sponsor other events including: Angelina Home
School Alliance, Lufkin Project Graduation, and School
Proms/Graduation Ceremonies.
